A good web site requires careful planning, yours as well as ours. Rushing onto the
web, without good planning, wastes time, money, and opportunity. A mediocre site
will push your customers to your competitors, but a well planned site will maintain
and increase customer loyalty.
Before we meet, we ask you to assess your objectives and preferences. We send you
a simple questionnaire that gives us an initial understanding of your needs. Then
we work with you to set the direction you want your online presence to take.
|
|
Our first meeting is the most important meeting we will have. All decision makers
on your team and ours must be available. We listen to you, we find out what you
want to accomplish, and we get a feel for the corporate images you want to generate
on the Internet.
We ask you structured questions and conduct a mini survey. We need to define your
concept, your needs, and your financial considerations. We also encourage you to
ask us whatever questions you may have. We know that in the Internet world clients
have many different needs and demands.
If at the end of the meeting our services and fees are agreeable and you decide
to proceed, we rough out a budget and a schedule, and we proceed to develop prototype
designs for the first page of your site.
|
|
|
In the development stage, with your critical input and approvals, we create prototype
pages. Three interdependent aspects are involved in this process:
|
|
Content assembly, based on client
input
Navigational flowchart and site
structure creation
Web programming and java scripting
Search engine optimization
|
|
Art production in Photoshop
Images conversion to .gif and
.jpg formats
Search engine optimization (alt
tags)
|
|
Domain name registration / modification
(obtained and approved by client)
Backend implementation
Search engine optimization (meta
tags to describe your site to search engines)
Internet based analysis of your
competitors web sites and related industry sites
|
|
Mass production puts it together into one complete package, your web site. In this
stage we use appropriate tools to generate, efficiently, perhaps hundreds of pages
or more, each page containing detailed information your customers are seeking, in
a consistent and easily navigated structure.
Proofing is not too exciting, but the lack of it can ruin a site. If you have ever
been to a web site with broken links, spelling errors, or graphic images that fail
to appear, you know what this means.
|
|
By this point your web site is squeaky clean, almost ready for release. But first,
we help you determine your web-hosting hardware and personnel needs, and provide
you with options. Also, before your site goes live to the public we do one final
test, in which you have a chance to make any final changes before that moment.
Launching has to be the most exciting step, after all the hard work, in which the
web site slips effortlessly onto the internet, into the full view of your customers,
and in which you begin actively conducting business on the web.
But the word launch doesn't mean that development is over. For a site to keep its
momentum it must be continually updated. The moment your site becomes static is
the moment your customers will click on your competitor's page. We encourage and
applaud continuous development on your site, whether by your staff or ours. The
only constant on the internet is change, and the only speed is faster.
